Annie Forbes was born in Edinburgh. She holds an M.Litt. in Creative Writing from the University of St Andrews and was winner of the 2020 Jane Martin Prize for Poetry from Girton College, Cambridge. Her poetry has featured in a range of publications including these: Poetry Scotland, South Bank Poetry, The High Window, Ink Sweat and Tears, Lighthouse Magazine, and Causeway/ Cabhsair (A Magazine of Irish and Scottish Writing).
Something Like Grace is her first pamphlet. Frequently influenced by the landscapes of Northern Ireland where she spent a significant part of her childhood, her vivid and hauntingly interrogatory poems make recourse to aspects of the natural environment in order to explore processes of grieving, fragmentation, and the enduring possibilities of tenderness.
